one is the known and feared with ferocious claws and speed. The other is the relatively slow (compared to a grizzly) over 3 ton Giant fanged (two canines abot the size of a man's arm) killer of more people in Africa than any other animal. Who wins in a war a Grizzly bear or a Hippopotamous

I'd say hippo. There's entirely too much mass for the grizzly to do damage to...plus, the hippo would have a distinct advantage in the water.

Depends, in the water, I'll take the hippo. His ponderousness doesn't hurt him so much in water. In the woods, the grizzly. More maneuverable and can climb trees. Back in the old days when people were barbaric, someone might have staged a fight like this. Pain and suffering to animals aside, it would be fun to watch.

On land, I'd say A Grizzly, because it has more methods of attack, and I think it would move better. In the water, Hippo. It's in it's element, and those teeth only have to hit a few good times.

I think the bear would be able to gouge one of the hippopotamus's eyes out with its claws. At that point, the hippopotamus would charge relatively blindly. Remember, grizzly bears are also somewhat comfortable in water. They're often on a rock in the middle of the river catching salmon.
