Is there a way to make a homemade animal tranquilizer?

and if there is would it be safe for the animal?,i know how to make an air gun but all i need is a formula for a tranquilizer. and i don't wont to go out and buy one commercially -if its even legal- if you could help that'd be great, thx!

Most animal tranquilizers are either controlled substances themselves, and/or have a controlled component (usually the active ingredient) that has controlled distribution. The primary reason being to keep humans from using them either in illegal drugs, or taking them directly. Secondarily, homebrew muscle relaxers and sleep inducing agents can be incredibly dangerous and throw off the dosage if you even slightly messed up any part of creating the compound.



So no, you may as well just kill the animal you intend to dart because it will probably be preferable to injecting them with a formula you made yourself unless you're trained to make them.



So, just obtain it commercially.



To post on Y!A the way to make an illegal substance at home would be violating the Y!A Terms of Service as it could "intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, state, national or international law" and also cause possible harm to minors, as it could be used as a weapon to some kid with an airgun who doesn't understand how unsafe a homemade tranquilizer could be.
